The Student Union Gallery and the UMass Amherst Department of History host an exhibit this fall titled, “The Times They Are A–Changing: Photographs of the University of Massachusetts Amherst Activist Community During the 1960s and 1970s” as part of the ongoing Feinberg Family Distinguished Lecture Series.
Master printer Stan Sherer ’06G reprinted 18 images he selected from both the Special Collections and Archives department at the Du Bois library and the photographic archives at the campus police department. The images, three of which are shown here, provide a look at the demonstrations, sit-ins, and teach-ins that took place on campus during the 1960s and 1970s.
The exhibit runs Sept. 18-Oct. 6, with related events taking place on campus throughout the fall.
